Wise Data Recovery is a file recovery utility for Windows, one of the free applications offered by WiseCleaner.com. It was designed to help you 'undelete' files that were erased from your PC, which can be images, audio and video, documents, compressed files, and emails.
The application is able to scan and search for files on several sources, like local disk drives, USB memory sticks, SD cards, and other storage units.
The biggest advantage of WDR is its ease of use, offering three ways to search for files. You can select a drive so that the application finds all the lost or deleted data from it, or narrow down the search to a specific file type that you can select from the drop-down menu. Alternatively, you can look for files by keywords like name or format, with the possibility of using wildcards. Once the scan is over, you can arrange the results list in several ways to simplify the selection of files; the application also shows the 'state' of each file, letting you know which are more likely to be recovered.
Though it lacks advanced options, like recovery of data from deleted partitions, Wise Data Recovery does a very good job of recovering those files that were deleted or emptied from the recycle bin recently. It is free, very easy to use, and does not contain ads.

Yes, I use Wise Data Recovery to recover my Word files successfully. It recovers data from the USB drive, too.
